Play 10 Minute Puzzles Word Sounds

When children learn to read, they break words down into sounds and letters (phonics).

The reading staircase is used to help children learn to read, by breaking down words. The steps include practising:

• Syllables
• Rhyming
• Alliterations
• Onset-rime
• Sound Identification
• Blending Sounds

Top Tips Course

The puzzles take just 10 mins per day:

• Aim to try 3 puzzles in 1 week, what days will you play?
• Do them with the child, in a quiet place with no distractions.
• Do each game on different days, to stop the child becoming overwhelmed.

Get involved and playing the games together, so the child does not even know they are learning.
